Honorable Mention
Dunkability
Paul Smith

To dunk or not to dunk,
that is the biscuit.
Digestive or otherwise
in rosie lea or sweet coffee.

Habitual, insiptual?
Excused for being medicinal.
Delightful as cricket
and warm English beer
...for some.

So take the time.
Enjoy, relax.
Even study the physics,
or chemistry.
Go to university.

These quaintly packaged
assortments, lay so
full of sugars
playing off the shelf symphonies;
alluring heart tuggers.

Scottish oat crumble,
English traditional,
"Welsh slate shapes,"
said with a mouthful of crumbs?

(No! Dunk it first
and soften to a sponge.)

For a fireside chat
or alone in your bed.
Indulging the pastime.
What more can be said?

So stack high the cupboards
and whistle your wet
with cuppa in hand
it's the only safe bet.
